Weekly Metrics To Keep Business On Track

Chances are as a visionary and business owner you are already accustomed to checking a few metrics on a regular basis to evaluate the health of your business. When you have an assistant, I encourage you to add assistant-specific numbers to this weekly scorecard. This way you will have an even broader view of your business and continue to encourage a “we” mentality in your client/assistant relationship. This also gives your assistant a sense of ownership and a continued investment in the success of the business.

Getting Started

I’ve compiled some of the best goals that your assistant can track weekly to give you a quick insight into the health of the business and your working relationship.

Assistant Managed Scorecard Metrics:

  •  Weekly Hours Worked

  • Leads/Prospects Received

  • New Clients Confirmed

  • Appointments/Call Scheduled

  • Social Media Posts

  • Online engagement

  • Projects Completed

  • Invoices sent vs paid

  • Sessions Booked for next quarter

  • Client touch points/reach-outs

Implementation

Implementing assistant managed metrics is pretty easy. First, discuss with your assistant what numbers are important to track. Next, set a weekly goal number for each item. Lastly, decide on a timeline. I recommended keeping the same metrics and goal for at least a quarter before adding or changing them.

Evaluation

I recommend reviewing these scorecard items along with your regular business metrics on a weekly basis with your assistant. Weekly one-on-one meetings with your assistant are vital to your success and it’s the perfect time to look over the scorecard. If there are any major highs or lows in your scorecard review you can address them right away within the meeting.

Working in a few assistant-specific goals is a great addition to your regular business metrics. It’s a quick and easy way to continue to foster a strong relationship with your assistant and to track the growth of your partnership.
